daijs says [軍], reverso is remarkably consistent with "stationing". "occupancy" never comes up. "garrisoning" is used sometimes, and is perhaps a useful synonym(though I could take it or leave it). 占領軍(occupying army), 占領 is "occupation/to occupy", so it doesn't seem necessary to try and stretch this entry into "occupation".
