Daijr added this sense in the 3rd edition. My initial thought was that it's too similar to sense 1 but the shinmeikai and prog examples above do look like a distinct sense.

I've sat on this for a while (as has everyone else...) Frankly, I think it's best as the two senses Robin set up in 2018. The refs are divided but two senses seem most common.
