      I think it's fine as a second gloss? The way the word is bandied about in Japanese, I think "unnecessary" is often the 
      most appropriate translation.

      I can see that "unnecessary" may well be used in newspaper articles, etc. but that needs to be seen in context af the whole article. By itself it's a risky word to have in a gloss because it's much broader than 不要不急. I think it's best omitted.

      The phrase is appearing in the news all 
      the time these days - the best translation 
      in these cases is "please refrain from 
      unnecessary outings", and if you look at 
      the Japan Times etc. I think this is how 
      they translate it.
