<upd_detl>The dictionaries all talk about a ship or 船, so this doesn't seem to be specific to steamships.

GG5 has "available ship", so I went with that. All the JJ dictionaries have variations on 都合よく出る船, which tempted me to suggest "conveniently available ship". The "next available ship" could be in a month's time: would that still be a 便船 ?  But in the end I trusted GG and our existing entry over my interpretation of the JJ glosses :)</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>The extra gloss is helpful, nothing to add on that.
But I don't think the [vs] sense is readily understandable from this alone.
I suggest splitting it into its own sense.</upd_detl>
