<upd_detl>What we have here is essentially doubled I believe. The now fifth sense we have is also what we have for the sole 手討ち entry. I think it can be merged into this entry with a note since Saito has that sense for this kanji form as well.

Also for the new sense (fourth), a ref is always nice. I currently don't see it, maybe someone else does?</upd_detl>

Saito has 1. (=主君が家来を我が手に掛けること)(a lord's) putting (a retainer) to death with his own hands

I think "after a disrespectful act" can be omitted from our gloss.
Other kokugos also say the punishment was given by a samurai


Oukoku and Iwakoku: 
③ 昔、武士がみずから手を下して、落ち度のあった家臣や町人を切り殺したこと。「―にする」
   ③は「手討ち」とも書く。

→ "Capital punishment" sense is archaic, putting it last

GG5 mentions it was also written as "お手討ち" (お手討ち	1.031)
