<upd_detl>Found it during a dialogue in FF14, ref. image above.
Although I have some doubts about it... it's clearly using the ことに grammar point explained in "A Dictionary of Advanced Japanese Grammar" but I don't think that ことに is part of jmdict, instead jmdict has several expressions that use that grammar point such as "嬉しいことに", "残念なことに", "驚いたことに", "困ったことに", "幸いなことに", but other are missing such as "面白いことに", "悪いことに", "悔しいことに", "心配なことに", "腹の立つことに", the "厄介なことに" submitted here etc...
So when it comes to this ことに pattern, to me is not clear what qualify as a worth addition and what doesn't.
I'm making this submission entry more to have a discussion about this, really</upd_detl>
