I think "to do for" is the least felicitous of three alternatives:
- to do
- to do for
- to do for you/him/her/etc.
The [hum] tag already suggests the "for you" part.

- "to express" is appropriate here as a more formal alternative to "to say"
EDICT: お喜び申し上げる to express pleasure on receiving news, etc.
