<upd_detl>all dics put 子細 first (if they even have 仔細 at all) and it has the usage tags.  仔細 gets more google hits, but not a single j-e i have access to bothers with 仔細 at all, so i don't think the google hits are legitimate</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>most of my dictionaries have it as the first definition. 

Also as for 子 vs 仔, I think 仔 is the correct kanji for this word since it has the detailed/minute meaning and is used in the examples:

They also only have 子細, and the kokugos lead with it so I'd leave it as it is.</upd_detl>
