<upd_detl>Scott, please don't gloss nouns as "to ....".
I'm not sure "crown" is the right word. Any other suggestions?</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>yeah, it's not really a 'crown'. and also 'i crowned him' means 'i hit him in the head', which was my first reaction when i saw 'crowning a boy'. but i can't think of a better word
how about 'crowning a boy with a traditional Japanese cap' or something?
also, i'll bet this is mostly archaic. it's in my kogo jiten at any rate</upd_detl>
