And I thought I might have missed something simple like that, but I just double-checked and that tag is missing from the JMDict_e XML file available at http://ftp.monash.edu.au/pub/nihongo/JMdict_e.gz. Was it something unintentionally left out?

Short answer: Yes

Longer answer: JMDict_e is (was) now just a copy from the database's XML
export function. The multilingual edition is taken apart so the glosses for
other languages can be added. When I change JMDict_e to being a straight
copy, I forgot to insert that date-stamp comment.

I have just changed the script so that the comment is inserted into the
JMDict_e version as well. Should be there in the next cycle.

Thanks

Jim
