Re: [edict-jmdict] Announcing myougiden, a new JMdict-based command-line dictionary

It installed neatly on Ubuntu 12.04*. It is looking really good! I will test it a bit and report any issues I find.

I already like the colour interface a lot.

The different output modes are chosen automatically, which means that piping the output to grep uses the one-line-per-entry format. This is exactly what you want in that case. I like sensible defaults. You obviously put a lot of thought in the design of the user interface.

For me this may actually be the nicest edict-jmdict application I have tried yet. I can definitely recommend it to anyone who is at home on the command line.

* If anyone wants to install myougiden on Ubuntu 12.04, you will need to install python3-setuptools for pip-3.2 first.

@Jim:
Ubuntu 9.10 is fairly ancient as operating systems go, I wouldn't expect many Python 3.x based tools to work on it. 12.04 is the current long term support release (12.10 the current normal release).

Looks fun. I couldn't install it on my Ubuntu 9.10
system (no pip for that version AFAICT).

Good luck
