RE: [edict-jmdict] EDICT and EDICT2 formats



Sounds reasonable to me. The one request I'd make is that the legacy version be kept available indefinitely, since some very useful programs that are no longer under development use it. In particular, I've yet to find a better Japanese text editor/dictionary program for Windows than JWPce, which has sadly been left alone since 2005. Searching for replacements, the only one I saw anyone recommending was wakan, which doesn't seem to have been updated since early 2008.
