Re: [edict-jmdict] JMdict editing

Understood. I won't make any more bulk edits (like I did with 的-adjectives in daijs and non-[lit] tagged lit glosses) for the next month and keep new entries to stuff I come across in newspaper articles, etc.

A question though, wouldn't the ideal situation be to always have outstanding edits in queue? I mean, isn't it better to have way "too many" at one point, even if the editors might not be able to cope with them, than say none at a time when editors are available/willing to sift through a couple of edits? In theory, are there any problems with having 1000 or more outstanding edits in queue? Even if the contributors should outpace the editors and the queue kept on growing, would there be any real problems associated with this? The one problem I can see is that topical words concerning recent news, etc. might get overlooked, but I imagine this could be solved by adding a checkbox on the submissions page for word that are topical.

Best,
Marcus

Can I ask for a bit of restraint in coming weeks from
adding a lot of changes and new entries:

- Rene, one of the more active editors, is away until
early July;
- I will be going to France next week for 3 weeks, and
won't be spending any time in that period looking at edits,
and will have little time before then either.

We went from ~80 outstanding edits to ~470 in the last
few hours. Many of these are straightforward (e.g. adding
"sumo" tags) but it still takes time to work through them.

Cheers
