Simpler way of adding multiple entries
Greetings,
I want to describe a technique for relatively simply adding
multiple entries to JMdict.
In the database editing system there is the facility to
send in a complete entry in EDICT2 format via the URL.
This is what is used in WWWJDIC when you click on a
"Promote" link.
I have written a frontend which uses this facility(*). It enables
you to edit/paste multiple entries in a simple EDICT-like
format into a form, and then have it formatted for
one-at-a-time entry into the database.
The initial form is at:
http://www.edrdg.org/wwwjdic/jmdictbulk.html I think it
should be fairly self-explanatory from there.
Cheers
Jim
(*) Actually I wrote it a while ago - I have just got
around to announcing it.
