Database testing - call for testers
Greetings again,
As I mentioned in an earlier email, we are ready to have some
testing carried out on a copy of the jmdict/edict file. We really
the interface exercised and also the documentation, etc.
commented on for usefulness, completeness, etc.
The URLs to use are:
Search for an entry:
http://www.edrdg.org/~jwb/cgi-bin/srchformq.py?svc=jmtest&sid=
Advanced Search (lots more options.)
http://www.edrdg.org/~jwb/cgi-bin/srchform.py?svc=jmtest&sid=
New Entry:
http://www.edrdg.org/~jwb/cgi-bin/edform.py?svc=jmtest&c=1
Once you get to an entry edit it, there are links to some documentation:
Quick Overview
http://www.edrdg.org/~jwb/cgi-bin/edhelpq.py
Full Help File
http://www.edrdg.org/~jwb/cgi-bin/edhelp.py
Can I ask people on the list to try out the system, see if you
can break it, and see if the instructions are appropriate.
You won't be able to register yet, and any changes or new
entries you do won't be made permanent. Also the URLs
above are not the ones to be used by the production
system.
Once we get past this stage. you'll have the chance to work on
the live data.
Looking forward to some feedback.
Cheers
Jim
