So, is the reading on the first Edict entry (大学出の人) correct? And which
of the following Edict examples should be で and which しゅつ ?

    * 彼は貴族の出である。
      He springs from a noble family.

    * ナンシーはいわゆる貴族階級の出である。
      Nancy comes from what we call the aristocracy.

    * 彼女は名門の出である。
      She comes of a good family.

    * あなたは一人で旅に出さえすればよい。
      You have only to set out on a trip by yourself.

    * 彼女の母はケネディ家の出だった。
      Her mother was a Kennedy.

    * 彼は良家の出である。
      He is of a good line.

    * 彼は良い家柄の出だ。
      He comes of good stock.

    * 彼は裕福だし、おまけに名門の出だ。
      He is well off, and what is more, he is of good birth.

    * 彼は北部で一番の名家の中の一つの出だ。
      He sprang from one of the best families in the north.

    * 彼は物静かな人で、良家の出だった。
      He was a quiet fellow; came from a good family.

    * 彼は中流階級の出だ。
      He comes from the middle class.

    * 彼は、音楽的家系の出である。
      He is descended from a musical family.

    * 大学出の会社員。
      An office worker with a college background.

If I was going to guess I'd say that 大学出 is probably しゅつ, and the
rest (~の出) are probably で, but I'd like a more informed opinion.
