I'm writing to you to inform you we have taken EDICT and translate the
definitions to Spanish and Portuguese, to create a dictionary called
"Bocabo" (www.bocabo.jp).
It is a living dictionary, in which users can suggest/correct translations
and request new words to be added. It's completely free and available via a
browser and mobile Japanese phones. We started the project because there is
a large community of Spanish/Portuguese speaking immigrants in Japan, and we
believe they will benefit from having access to a free Japanese to
Spanish/Portuguese dictionary while at work/home/in the train, etc. We have
used a combination of machine translation and volunteers to make thedictionary, while not perfect, we expect to become better as users
contribute to it. The copyright section of the dictionary states that the
dictionary was based on EDICT. Here is a link to it

and a link to the dictionary http://www.bocabo.jp

Cheers!
