Select different dictionary file
A question about the "Select different dictionary file" options.
In what order are these displayed? They seem almost completely random.
<OPTION SELECTED VALUE="1" > edict</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="2" > compdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="3" > enamdict</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="4" > lifscidic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="5" > jddict</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="6" > finmktdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="7" > miscdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="8" > j_places</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="9" > glossdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="A" > engscidic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="B" > j-russian</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="C" > buddhdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="D" > j-french</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="E" > riverwater</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="F" > the_lot</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="G" > revhenkan</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="H" > lingdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="I" > lawdic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="J" > cardic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="K" > jsvedic</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="L" > jhungdic</OPTION>
Wouldn't it be better to have them in alphabetical order?
The ideal ordering (in my opinion) would have the Monash-managed
dictionaries at the top (i.e., edict, compdic, enamdict), the
remainder of the J-E dictionaries sorted next by alphabetical order,
the non-English dictionaries next (by alphabetical order of target
language), and then "the lot" last. (One might also consider
assigning more intuitive names like "Japanese-Hungarian Dictionary",
leaving the *actual* names of the files in the credits at http://
www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdicinf.html)
Also, I was under the impression that j_places is now deprecated (all
of that info having been merged into enamdict). Can it be removed?
