I tried it with FF under Windows, and initially got the same result. However
when I selected "Kanji (cut-and-paste or IM)" it was fine. That option will
stop it from attempting to treat it as a reading; possibly in romaji.

I also set it to UTF8, so I could actually cut the ? from another tab.
