In fact, some of those suru verbs have an additionnal form with -su, making them godan verbs. Example : 愛する -> 愛す(愛せる, 愛さない ...)
This is just like -zuru verbs having the -jiru form.

Yet, it seems there is others like 察する [さっする] that have another form : 察しる (ichidan).
Also : 接する(接しる)達する(達しる)発する(発しる)

I am not sure, but it may depends on the kana preceding する.

Look at Q18 from http://www.kyoiku-shuppan.co.jp/shoukoku/kotoba/kotoba2.htm :

1 Kanji ending with ん + ずる -> ーじる
1 Kanji ending with っ + する -> ーしる
1 Kanji ending with い + ずる -> ーじる
1 Kanji ending with う + ずる -> ーじる
1 Kanji + んずる -> ーんじる

There may be similar rules for する -> す
(probably 1 kanji 漢語 + する -> ーす, while 1 kanji 和語 are regular noun+する (vs))
