Marginally. That さない-out-of-context search throws up a lot of
plain old 五段 Ｘす verbs: 話さない, 熟さない, etc. plus 
小さな + いたずらっ子, 小さな + いす, etc.

Yes, for most people the only real difference between vs and vs-s verbs
is the さない/しない thing.

I see the Tanaka corpus has 15 愛さない cases and one 愛しない
sentence (我が家を愛しない人は誰もいない。)
